I'm a graphic designer currently working as a Program Manager and Designer for the mental health non-profit U Bring Change to Mind. I have the unique opportunity to be the lead of the creation of a college program centered around reducing the stigma around mental health issues. I am also currently working on a "toolbox" of designed materials to distribute to other budding programs. While I know this isn't a typical start to my design career, it was a natural follow-up to my senior thesis, and an experience that has helped me in design as well.
I received a BFA in both Graphic and Industrial Design from the University of Notre Dame, and although the Notre Dame design program is small, it allowed for one-on-one learning and skill development. The University urged the development of a well-rounded liberal arts education and advancement in education through research. While giving me the technical skills to be a designer, my education shaped my ability to create strategies and narratives that benefit each individual client.
I have a deep love of paper and ink. Letterpress and silkscreen printing has shaped my design abilities and helped direct my professional focus. I love how printed pieces can have a physical and lasting impression—how through creativity and ingenuity the media can be manipulated to create something novel and unique to each individual print. Printmaking and type-setting has influenced my understanding of typography and changed how I design brands for the better!
